Rules for Annuities—VIII ., page 68 , to alter £ 26 to £ 40 ; IV ., page 71 , to alter £ 21 to £ 32 . Tho Board recommend that the Book of Constitutions as now presented to Grand Lodge , be adopted as the Constitutions of the Order , and be printed and distributed .

The Supremo Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Scotland has adopted the Ceremony of Installation of Worshipful Master as used by this Grand Lodgo , in accordance with the following resolution unanimously carried 7 th March 1894 . " That tho dei * ree of Ins-tailed Master in the Mark Degree shall

be conferred only upon tho Principals Z . and Past Principals Z . of Ro \ al Arch Chapters , and the Masters and Past Masters of Mark Master Lodges holding a separate warrant from tho Supreme Grand Chapter ; and the names of all Principals Z . and Masters of

Mark Master Lodges so installed shall be transmitted to the Grand Scribe E . for registration in the books of the Supreme Grand Chapter ; and they shall bo supplied with a diploma on payment of tho prescribed fee . "

All such Principals Z . and Past Principals Z . and Masters and Past Masters of Mark Master Lodges , b . C , are entitled to be present at a Board of Instahed Masters on production of the diploma mentioned above .

Tho Sub-Committee on Education having carefully considered the Annual Reports of tho Head Masters and Mistresses of tho Schools at which tho various pupils on the Fund are being educated , have awarded the Silver Medal for proficiency in Studies and General Excellence

o o o THE National Cycle Show will be held at the Crystal Palace on the Gth , 7 th , 8 th , 10 th and 11 th inst ., when an immense assort ment of Bicycles , Tricycles and accessories will be on view .

FRIARS LODGE , No . 1349 . THE opening mooting was held on the 19 th ult ., at the Ship and Turtle , Leadenhall Street , under the presidency of Bro . Charles Eschwege W . M . who most impressively passed Bros . Levy and B & lch .

Bros . Naphtali , Goldstein , and Harris wero re-elected as members of the Benevolence Committee , and the motion standing in thn name of Bro . H . Marks P . M . was moved by Bro . De Casyeres , that a Ladies' Banquet and ball should be given during tho forthcoming session . This was carried unanimously , says tho " East London Observer , " and the Brethren then adjourned to tho spacious dining-hall , whore an excellent banquet was served , under tho personal superintendence of Bro . Ashley , tho genial manager .

Iu very torr-e and happy terms tho W . M . proposed tho usual Loyal and Masonio toasts . The toast of the Visitors received every consideration in his hands , and was ably responded to by Bro . Sadd and other Brethren , each one paying a woll-desorved tribute to the excellent working of tho Master and his Officers . o o o

KENSINGTON LODGE , No . 1767 .

A VERY successful meeting was held on Saturday , 17 th ult ., at Ladbroko Hall . After usual preliminary business the W . M ., in a most efficient and masterly manner , started a hard evening ' s work , which consisted of tho raising of Bros . Frost and Griffiths , the passing of Bros .

McKinlay , Chesterfield , Battersby , and Ortner , and initiating no less than threo new members . Tho working throughout was all that could be desired , says tho " Kensington News , " W . M . Neville simply excelling himself in his admirable performance of the different ceremonies attaching to his office .

After the labours of tho evening , the Brethren adjourned to a substantial dinner provided by Mr . Linscott . The health of the Grand Officers was responded to by Bros . Goorgo Read Grand Standard Bearer , P . M . Maekay , and other Brethren .

Bro . Maekay , in proposing the health of the W . M ., referred to that Brother ' s excellent qualities , and also to the splendid working . It was seldom so much work had to be got through in one evening . He was proud that the Kensington Lodge was still able to furnish good Masters .

Tho W . M ., in response , thanked tho Brethren for their good wishes , and assured them that anything he could do either in or out of the Lodge to further their interests he should be only too pleased . Ho was stauding as Steward for tho Boys at the next Festival , and hoped to take up a fairly good sum . The toast of tlio Initiates was duly honoured .

In responding for tho Visitors , Bro . Rutherglen W . M . of the Carnarvon Lodge congratulated Bro . Neville and his Officers on tho excellent working of the ovening , which set a worthy example to tho Brethren present . He was proud of his seventeen years connection with Kensington , and stated that at the rate the Kensington Lodge was progressing it looked like becoming one of the largest Lodges in tho kingdom . Bros . P . M . Hillier , Chandler , Gartley , and Barker also responded to the toast .

The Past Masters' toast was responded to by Bros . Maekay , Williams and Wiggins , while Bros . Read and Barker returned thanks as Secretary and Treasurer , and Bro . J . Neville for tho remaining Officers . With songs and recitations a very pleasant evening concluded . The annual Lodgo Ball was announced for Friday , 25 th January next , to tako place at Ladbroke Hall .

PROVINCIAL . — : o : — ST . JAMES LODGE , No . 448 .

ON Thursday , 22 nd ult ., at the Masonic Hall , Halifax , a complimentary banquet was given by the members of this Lodge to Bro . Aid . Michael Booth , in honour of his election as Mayor of Halifax . Bro . J . W . Normanton Worshipful Master presided , and tho vice-chairs were occupied by Brothers W . S . Milligan and T . Robertshaw .

The Worshipful Master , in proposing " Our guest , Bro . Alderman Michael Booth , " said it was the first time in the history of the Lodge , which extended over fifty-six years , that they had been honoured by having one of their number raised to the civic chair . Aid . Booth had served his fellow townsmen for eighteen years , besides having a connection for twenty-one with the Northowram

Local Board , and he had interested himself in educational and other movements . His election , due to merit , was an honour to tho Lodge , which supplied many members of the Halifax Town Council . Ho hoped he would have a peaceful and prosperous year of office . The toast having been drunk enthusiastically and with musical honours ,

The Mayor , in acknowledgment , said that the banquet given to him that night , so early after his initiation , ho regarded with the utmost appreciation , accepting it in the Masonic spirit in which it was offered . He was pleased to see Aid . Brear present , because the race for Mayoralty was between himself and Alderman Brcar . . He
