HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS .

MIDLAND RAILWAY . WE draw the attention of our readers to the announcement of this Company , in another part of our present issue , wherein will be found full particulars of the service to Scotland by what is termed the most interesting route , and it is very certain the district covered by this system has many claims to such a distinction . Added to the natural advantage of

traversing some of the most beautiful scenery of the country the Midland line enjoys a world-wide reputation for ' enterprise , which leads to advantages for its patrons in the form of splendid accommodation , with first and third class dining carriages , sleeping cars , luncheon and dining cars , family saloons , reserved compartments , pillows , & c , & c , all combined with fast trains and favourable fares for tourists and holiday seekers .

GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY . THE East Coast watering places must always possess attractions for a large proportion of holiday seekers , by reason of the fine bracing air to be met with there , and it is consequently no surprise to find the Great Northern providing expresses to meet the special traffic of the season by its

"direct" route , the time table of which is given elsewhere m this issue . The cheap weekly excursions there announced are also an attractive feature , and will no doubt be well patronised , not only on account of the wide district they embrace , but also because of the convenient terms for which the tickets are issued .

GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY . WE gave a summary of this Company ' s arrangements for the Bank Holiday and season's traffic last week , and in this issue will be found further details of the numerous weekly and other excursions to be run during the next few days . The day trips to the Riverside Stations , which have for

many years proved such an attractive feature with the Great Western , are still among the best patronised excursions of the Company , and when one calls to mind the many beautiful spots included within the Company's range—from Staines to Wallingford—it is no matter of surprise .

HALF-DAY IN SHAKESPEARE'S COUNTRY . THE London and North Western Railway Company announce that on Thursday next , 6 th inst ., they will run a Cheap Excursion to Stratfordon-Avon , leaving London ( Euston ) 12-30 p . m ., Chalk Farm 12-9 p . m ., Kilburn 12-15 p . m ., Chelsea 11-52 a . m ., West Brompton 11-56 a . m .,

Kensington ( Addison Road ) 12-12 p . m ., Uxbridge Road 12-14 p . m ., Willesden Junction 12-40 p . m ., Clapham Junction 11-46 a . m ., Battersea 11-49 a . m . Returning from Stratford-on-Avon at 7-40 p . m . the same evening . Third Class return fare 3 s 6 d .

Bro . G . Thompson , the Bailway King of Hatton Garden , has taken over the sale of tickets , which will . be a great boon and convenience to his customers and friends .
