The Secretary read tho minutes of tho meeting of tho Permanent Committees of tho Reading Lodges , held on tho 10 th inst ., in which it wns unanimously recommended— " That the sum of twelve pounds be paid by each Lodgo towards the expenses of tho Special Provincial Grand Lodge held in November last . " It was moved by Bro . Stevens S . W ., and seconded by Bro . Ferguson S . D . —

" That the recommendations of the Permanent Committees be complied with . " Carried . The Secretary read a letter be had received from the Prov . G . Secretary , stating that the R . W . P . G . M . had appointed tho Rev . J . Studholme Brownrigg as V . W . D . P . G . M . for Berks and Bucks , in the place of the Ven . the Dean of York , who had resigned . After the nsual ceremonies the Lodge was closed .

Gladwell having offered himself as a

candidate for the third degree , was examined and entrusted . The Lodge was opened in the third degree , and tho ceremony of raising completed . The three sections of the lecture were worked by Brother Fox . The Lodge was then closed in the third and second degrees , and Bro . Brocklehurst having been appointed W . M . for that night fortnight , the Lodge was closed .

M . elect , which ceremony he rendered on this occasion as on many former

Bro . Cooke appropriately replied , and thanked the brethren for their valuable presents ; he hoped to be among them for many years as a Past Master of the

Lodge . Lodge was then closed , and the brethren partook of a banquet , where the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were given , that of Col . Burdett P . G . M . Middlesex and the rest of the Prov . heightened the effect . The Lodge was resumed to the first degree , when the report of the Joint Committee of the two Lodges was read , and it was unanimously agreed that the extra expense of the Special Provincial Grand Lodge in November last should be borne by the two Lodges equally . All bnsiness being ended , the Lodgo was closed .

Myers for the very excellent manner in which he had worked the sections . The brethren who had assisted were

complimented , the answers requiring no dictation . Such a specimen of working is seldom to be witnessed as that displayed by those who took part on this occasion . The Officers wero clothed in new aprons , collars and jewels , and this added greatly to the effect . Bro . Friedeburg W . S . 1349 was elected a member . On Tuesday next wo recommend a visit to this Lodge of Instruction , when that excellent worker Bro . P . M . Cundick will preside . We wish him a successful meeting .

M . g iving the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts . Singing aud pianoforte accompaniments rendering the evening very enjoyable .
